A to Z index - Respite Care

Short breaks (respite care) can be provided following a carers assessment and may take the form of residential stays for the cared for person, or help with the care of the cared for person at home while the carer goes out.

In disability services the carer will be asked to complete a self assessment form which will be followed by a meeting with a care worker or social worker to complete the assessment.
