  Open Spaces Strategy

  This strategy looks at parks and gardens, natural and semi natural green space, amenity green space, children's play space, allotments and churchyards and cemeteries. The strategy identifies community needs and aspirations and recommends strategic improvements to the provision, access and quality of open spaces. Standards for each type of open space will ensure that planning, design, management and maintenance is coordinated in the future.

  Green Infrastructure Framework Plan

  This study identifies the existing network of open spaces and green linkages within the towns and countryside of Thurrock. An evaluation of the existing green infrastructure has enabled the potential for new green space to be identified as well as improvements to existing green space. The study provides the framework for an accessible Greengrid network of open spaces and greenway linkages that will inform local development documents.

  Biodiversity Study

  This study identifies sites that contribute to the wildlife resource of the area. It includes sites that have important habitats or communities of plants or animals and which make up the special character of Thurrock. The study also indicates the condition of the wildlife resource and identifies opportunities for conservation and enhancement. The information will be a vital tool in future decision-making and will greatly influence land-use policy.
