Secondary School Admissions

From Thursday 1 March 2012 offers of secondary school places in Thurrock and across the UK are returned to parents and carers.

If you have applied online for admission in September 2012 and would like to see the outcome of your application, simply follow the green "Admissions Online" link below and then select the "Login" option at the right of the screen. Enter your e-mail address and school admissions password to log in.

You can also use the above link to make late applications.

Thurrock Council co-ordinates secondary school admissions for all pupils. This means that you need only complete one application (plus a supplementary form if you are applying for Grays Convent).

Please take the time to read our 'Secondary Admission Information' brochure and follow the instructions for applying. It is essential that you submit your completed application form in good time, otherwise you will have less chance of getting a place at a school you would like your child to attend. These arrangements have been designed to ensure that every year 6 pupil is sent an offer of a secondary school place on the same day.

The 2012 secondary school admissions round closed to on-time applications on 31 October 2011. Any application made now will be classed as a late application and will be processed after all on-time applications have been processed.

Applications received after the closing date are treated as late applications. This means there will be far less chance of your child being offered a place at a school you want.

Primary School Admissions

Thurrock Council co-ordinates primary school admissions for all pupils. This means that you need only complete one application (plus a supplementary form for Orsett Church of England Primary or Catholic primary schools).

Thurrock Schools determined admission arrangements

Under the Education (Determination of Admission Arrangements) (Amendment) (England) regulations 2007, Local Authorities are required to publish a notice about the determined admission arrangements for schools in the area of the education authority.

A person is able to object to any schools admission policy by referring it to the Schools Adjudicator under regulation 9(1)(c) of The School Admissions (Alteration and Variation of, and Objections to, Arrangements)(England) Regulations 2007.
