Council elections
Elections for one third of the council took place on Thursday 2 May 2024.

Elections from 2025 will be 'all out', so all 49 councillor posts will be up for election at the same time.

Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) elections are held every 4 years.

The previous election of a Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex took place on 6 May 2021, after being postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
