Thurrock Council provides cleansing and maintenance services for the following seven memorials, and may offer assistance or advice with other memorials depending on circumstances:

• Civic Square, Tilbury
• Rectory Road/High Road, Orsett
• Orsett Road/High Street, Grays
• Rectory Road, Little Thurrock
• High Street, Aveley
• South Road, South Ockendon

The structures are kept in a safe condition with all inscriptions legible. The monuments and their surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy with special attention given to them at Remembrance Day.

This is an information gathering project. It aims to create a database of information of all known war memorials in the UK, estimated to be at between 50,000 to 60,000.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission
This website has a database which lists the men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died during the two world wars and also the 23,000 cemeteries, memorials and other locations worldwide where they are commemorated.
