Can I get help to repair my property?

If you own your home - the service provides a range of interest-free loans to help towards the cost of repairs and improving energy efficiency within your property. Conditions and criteria apply.

If you rent your home - the landlord is normally responsible for repairs. The Private Sector Housing Service, however, will advise on the next steps to take if the repairs are not carried out, and if necessary, it will use its statutory powers to instruct your Landlord to make good any repairs, or missing amenities.

Fire Safety Grants and Empty Property Grants can also help to provide financial help for new or existing landlords that wish to improve their properties. Conditions and criteria apply.
