The aim of this culture-changing legislation is to provide a right of access to information held by public authorities, requiring them to maintain a publication scheme describing types of information that they pro-actively make available to the public.
Thurrock Council needs to collect and use certain types of information about people with who it deals in order to operate. These include current, past and present employees, suppliers, the public and others to whom it communicates.
