Consultation - Strategic Tenancy Policy

A change in the law gives local authorities the opportunity to change the type of tenancies given to new tenants. This consultation concentrates on the council's approach to flexible or fixed-term tenancies.

The council wants to ensure that any change supports the objectives of:

• managing and improving housing supply and choice;
• meeting and supporting the needs of vulnerable groups;
• investing in the housing stock and environmental sustainability;
• ensure all services are effective and achieve value for money.
