Libraries I.T. Services

Taster Sessions

Information Technology (I.T.) taster sessions are run by Thurrock Libraries for people who would like to begin to use a computer. We have trained over 1300 older people. Thurrock Libraries run the following tasters:

  • Wiser for IT (sessions for beginners over 50).
  • IT for young parents who want to return to work.

Our I.T. Tasters are organised into five sessions (two hours per week for five weeks).

Guidelines for organising and running sessions

We provide guidelines to the people who organise and run the sessions:

If any of the guidelines apply to you, please read them carefully.

Agreement and assessment forms

The following forms are all PDF files - please see how to access PDF files.

We do offer other computer taster sessions e.g.

  • Designing of greeting/invitiation cards.
  • Saving documents and burn onto a CD.
  • scanning, photocopying, and laminate documents.
  • Using digital camera and downloading pictures.

Also our popular half term activites available from time to time e.g. designing your web sites (school children aged 10-16).

Please do contact your nearest library for future events.
