Belhus Library is a part of the South Ockendon Centre, which opened its doors for the first time on 25 March 2013. The South Ockendon Centre, including public access computers and self-service facilities, is open from 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays, and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays. Full library services are available from 10am, Monday to Saturdays.
The library originally opened at its current premises in February 1955, and was later refurbished in 1990/1991.
