News Archive - Ferry Service Remains Suspended

Tuesday, 8 May 2007

The operator of the Tilbury to Gravesend ferry service has advised Thurrock Council that the Tilbury to Gravesend ferry service is now not expected to be operational until 14th May.

It had been hoped the ferry would return to service by 8th May.
However, essential and unexpected repairs to both the Duchess M and the Princess Pocahontas is still ongoing meaning the service has been suspended.

Passengers should use Traveline to access alternative rail and bus services.
In the meantime Thurrock Council together with Kent County Council continues to provide an additional subsidised bus service, provided by Ensignbus of Purfleet, to take passengers from Gravesend to Bluewater.
From where they can use current services to complete their journey to Tilbury.
