On Monday, 25 June, over 4,000 flags were raised at 10.30am across the country in support of our armed forces, past and present.
Thurrock Council was no exception and the Mayor, Councillor Yash Gupta was joined by MP Jackie Doyle-Price, Reverend Darren Barlow, Cllr John Kent, Leader of Thurrock Council, Graham Farrant, Chief Executive of Thurrock Council and other local dignitaries, veterans and supporters to raise the flag at the Civic Offices, Grays.
Local piper Jo Goddard opened the ceremony which ended with the Mayor inviting guests to join him for light refreshments once the flag was raised by MP Jackie Doyle-Price.
