DP World London Gateway, the UK's new deep-sea container port will be holding a jobs fair on Saturday, 14 July from 9am to 6pm at London Gateway, Gate 2 The Manorway, Stanford-le-Hope, SS17 9PD.

Thurrock Council is encouraging people who seek to join the world-class team, to register to attend at www.LondonGateway.com.

The jobs fair marks the start of London Gateway's own major recruitment drive that will see an initial 200 new staff join the existing team of 50 in the coming months.

Attendees will be asked to register their interest for roles, which are a mixture of manual, semi-skilled, skilled, supervisory and management roles including lashers, quay crane drivers, electricians, mechanics, IT professionals, HR specialists, terminal planners and other roles required to operate, maintain and manage Britain's new global shipping port.

Training will be provided for many of the roles to ensure world-class standards of service are delivered from day one of operations. DP World offers a challenging and rewarding career and is an equal opportunities employer. The team is looking for a diverse mixture of talent.

During the fair, people will be able to meet with existing London Gateway team members including: Operations, Engineering, IT/systems, Communications, HR, Commercial, Finance, Health and Safety, and Administrative/support functions.

The day is split into four sessions:

  • Session 1 (9am to 11am)
  • Session 2 (11am to 1pm)
  • Session 3 (2pm to 4pm)
  • Session 4 (4pm to 6pm)

London Gateway the £1.5 billion port along with Europe's largest logistics park is set to create 12,000 direct jobs over the coming years and is currently one of the biggest private job creation schemes in the UK.

The London Gateway project already has over 1,000 construction staff working everyday on the vast development site, which is 2 square miles in size.

London Gateway will incorporate Europe's largest logistics park. Logistics and
Property experts estimate that approximately 10,000 employees will be needed at
the London Gateway logistics park by the time it reaches its full 9.2 million square
feet capacity.
