Work needs to be carried out on the lych gate entrance to the West Thurrock Memorial Ground off London Road.
Starting on 4 March this entrance will be closed to traffic and pedestrians for a few weeks.
The gate's beams and main spars are beginning to perish and need replacing.
Although the entrance will be closed throughout the work - for approximately two weeks - access to the field can be made through the pedestrian gates in Hilltop Road and via West Thurrock Cemetery.
