Larger and more complex planning applications for development, and applications for listed building consent within the borough, are processed by our Major Projects Team.

Planning obligations

The council's interim Planning Obligations Strategy ensures that development contributes appropriately, either financially, or in kind, towards the infrastructure that needs to be provided in Thurrock.

Local Development Order (LDO) - Habitat Regulations Screening Assessment Report

Thurrock Council is considering the making of a Local Development Order (LDO) for the Proposed Logistics Park at London Gateway, under the terms of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (Schedule 4A) and the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.

Before making a LDO, however, the council must consider whether the proposed development that would be the subject of the LDO will have any likely significant effects upon a European Site of nature conservation interest or Natura 2000 site.
