In December 2012 the Council published its seventh Annual Monitoring Report (AMR). Every local planning authority is now required to publish an AMR each year under the requirements of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Bill, 2004. The AMR contains information on the implementation of the Council's Local Development Scheme and the extent to which current planning policies set out in the adopted Local Plan are being achieved (please see how to access PDF files):
Prior to the production of the Council's first AMR in 2005, the achievement of current planning policies has mainly been monitored by specific reports on key topics. Reports have been published by the Strategic Planning Department on the availability of housing and industrial land for several years. The overall findings of the 2005 Land Availability Reports have contributed to the AMR for 2005.
