(Temporary prohibition or restriction on roads)
No. 25 Order 2012
The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
Prohibit any vehicle travelling along Aveley By Pass, Aveley.
The purpose of the Order is to allow for temporary repairs to be undertaken to the footbridge.
The alternative route for eastbound vehicles will be B1355 Sandy Lane, A1306 London Road, A1306 Arterial Road Purfleet, (M25 J31), A1306 Arterial Road West Thurrock, B186 Pilgrims Lane, Stifford Hill, B1335 Stifford Road and vice versa for westbound vehicles.
Access for vehicles will be maintained to the Belhus Park Golf & Country Club will be via Aveley By Pass.
The Order will come into force at 0001hrs on Friday 15th June 2012 for 15 days. It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.
It is expected that the remedial works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
