Weekend respite

The short break service provides respite care on Saturdays and Sundays at the Thurrock Carers Centre. We can bring your relative or friend to the centre any time between 9:30am and 5:00pm. You can make the arrangements in advance. If you have not previously used the weekend service, you will need to contact Community Solutions on 01375 652868 they will carry out an assessment of your needs.

We encourage the person accessing the service to become involved in a range of activities. We charge for lunch and any refreshments we provide throughout the day. If personal care is needed, our trained staff will assist.

If you have to be out longer than the closure times of the respite breaks, a trained staff member can accompany your relative/friend home and stay with them until you return.

Holiday respite

Carers sometimes need to take a break away from their relative/friend but are reluctant to leave them. If you need someone to visit your relative while you take a holiday, then this service is for you.

We provide trained staff to visit daily. We will agree and assess the number of times a day with you. This will then help you to go on holiday assured that the person you are caring for is receiving daily contact with another person who can provide the support and care they may need.

Telephone: 01375 413703 / 413754 for further information.
