Welcome to Thurrock Council's sports and leisure section where you will find "all sports for all sorts". We aim to provide you with all the information that you need to help you get involved and active, weather as a competitor or for fun.
Our Sports & Leisure Team work with a broad range of partners to ensure that there is a wide variety of facilities and activities available to keep you active on a regular basis. This includes: Impulse Leisure who manage the Council Leisure Centres and Golf Course; Thurrock School Sports Partnership; Thurrock Sports Council; and many community sports clubs, groups and organisations.
The benefits to being active for you health and well being are widely know and with the London Olympic and Paralympic Games fast approaching, there has never been a better time to get active.
Impulse Leisure facilities in Thurrock include three leisure clubs - Belhus Park, Blackshots and Corringham - each boasting the latest in fitness equipment, and Belhus Park Golf & Country Club, a well-established 18-hole course that extends over 46 acres of beautiful parkland.

sportessex is the official body for sport in Essex and is recognised by Sport England and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Their role is to ensure that everyone in Essex has the opportunity to take part in sport at the level that they want to, by working in partnership with many organisations across the county to promote sport and set up exciting new sporting opportunities.

The partnership aims to make PE & sport the best for every young person in the Thurrock area. It manages the Local Training Hub for PE & sport, Sport Unlimited local projects, lottery funded activities and swimming 'top ups' as well as many other programmes.
