Thurrock has an integrated transport network of bus, rail and ferry services. Buses connect all the towns and villages within the borough. On the rail network, Thurrock is on the c2c line connecting London Fenchurch Street with Southend-on-Sea and Shoeburyness. A ferry service operates between Tilbury and Gravesend.

Thurrock Council is the main highway authority responsible for the streets and roads throughout the borough, ensuring they are in good repair, safe to use and are clearly sign-posted. Good traffic management and road safety training reduces the risks of accidents and is helpful to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike.

Thurrock's Public Rights of Way network comprises more than 100 miles of public footpaths and bridleways, giving access to the countryside, country parks, the waterfront and places of interest. Our Public Rights of Way are monitored to ensure they are easy to use and signed where they leave a road.
