This is a controlled parking zone, which consists of on street and off street Pay & Display parking, and resident parking permits (see below).
Council maintained parking in the Grays Town Centre is Pay & Display, where a ticket is purchased on arrival for the required amount of time. Charges are:
Long stay car parks are located in Argent Street, Crown Road and Cromwell Road.
All on street parking is short stay with the exception of Thames Road (near Grays Beach), which is £1.20 for all day.
It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that the correct amount of change is held upon arrival, as the machines give no change and no time is allowed to obtain change. All tariffs and instructions are displayed at all machine locations along with contact telephone numbers should problems be incurred when using the Pay & Display machines.

If you reside within one of the resident parking scheme areas, to apply you need to give proof of your address and vehicle registration documents. The cost is £18 per year in Grays and Stanford-le-Hope. Visitor permits are £6 per 20 visits in Grays and Stanford-le-Hope, each visit to last up to 5 hours.
To apply for a parking permit you will need to fill out the relevant form. There are forms available that cover residential and business parking permits. There are currently no park and ride facilities operating in Thurrock.
