School & college transport

Code of Good Practice

A School & College Transport - Code of Good Practice has been developed to provide parents and pupils with advice on transport to schools and colleges.

It explains how we expect pupils to behave when travelling to and from their school or college. It advises parents of ways in which they can help to make their child's journey safer and more pleasant. Finally it advises schools, drivers, escorts and operators of their responsibilities.

CCTV

Thurrock Council has implemented a CCTV system in order to reduce and discourage anti-social behaviour, criminal activity, vandalism and the threat of crime generally on school transport. Signs will be visible where CCTV cameras are in use on vehicles.

For more information about the use of CCTV including your rights of access, please see our CCTV for School Transport page.
