Household Collections - Kitchen & Garden Waste

Your brown bin for kitchen and garden waste will be collected weekly on the same day as your blue bin (recyclable) and grey/green bin (non-recyclable) collections.

Please note: all kitchen and garden waste is to be contained in the brown bin. No side waste or excess bags/sacks will be collected.

Please wrap food waste in newspaper or 100% compostable bags. No other plastics bags will be excepted, even if it states recyclable or bio-degradable.

If you choose to use 100% compostable bags please check the packaging to ensure that they are marked EN13432. This is the European standard mark that confirms the bags are 100% compostable.

You can find information on kitchen caddies/compostable sacks in our Guide to Waste & Recycling (PDF 660.4kB) pack (see how to access PDF files).

Your wheeled bins must be presented for collection at the boundary of your property or agreed collection point by 7am on the day of collection.
