What to do if a tag has been left on your wheeled bin
There are four different reasons why tags may be placed on wheeled bins.

We aim to publish details of missed collections no later than the next working morning following each scheduled collection day.

If your collection has not been completed the crew will return on the next working day (usually the following day). The incident is recorded so individual households do not need to get in touch to make a separate report or request a revisit.

Points to note

While we make every effort to ensure that waste is collected from each household on its scheduled day, there are times when exceptional circumstances may prevent collections taking place. Circumstances could include severe adverse weather or road blockages or mechanical failure, for example.

Please note:

• The Waste and Recycling collection service provides collections throughout the day, therefore your recycling, refuse and kitchen and garden waste may be collected at different times.
• Drivers use their own judgement and experience to assess as to whether or not the road can be accessed safely. Thurrock Council takes seriously its responsibilities to protect other road users, third party property and staff.

Scheduled collections

Thurrock Council operates a regular schedule for collecting domestic waste from all properties in the borough. Waste for disposal or recycling is collected from green/grey, blue and brown wheeled bins on a weekly basis.
