Inspire your future

As a young person in Thurrock, you are entitled to support to help you make choices and progress successfully through education and training and on into work.

You should have access to:

  • a programme of careers education and preparation for adult life within the curriculum, from Year 7 to age 19

  • information about the full range of options available to you in education, training and programmes to prepare for adult life at each point of transition, and about the progression opportunities from those options

  • up-to-date information about the job market and future choices

  • opportunities to have direct contact with employers and employees

  • opportunities to hear from, and visit, apprenticeship and other providers, sixth form and further education colleges and universities

  • first-hand experiences of the workplace

  • regular reviews of your achievements and progress, and emerging career plans

  • individual impartial careers guidance, from an appropriately qualified careers adviser, at times when you need it, from Year 8 to age 19 – or 25 for young people with special educational needs or disabilities

  • opportunities to feedback your comments and suggestions on the careers education, information, advice and guidance provided
