Mayor's award for Lifetime Achievement

A very special achievement award celebrating an individual for their outstanding contribution and dedication to the borough over their lifetime. This person will have gone above and beyond over many years, showing a long-term commitment to their community or the whole of Thurrock.

Stronger Together Community award

For an individual, community group or organisation who is involved in bringing communities together through a local project or community event or have excelled in supporting local communities to support themselves. This award celebrates those who clearly show the Stronger Together ethos of using the strengths and potential of individuals and groups to help people help themselves.

Creative Excellence award

Sponsored by Port of Tilbury

For an individual, community group or organisation that has contributed to raising the profile of the arts in Thurrock. This could be visual arts, amateur dramatics or music. They may be the star of the show or they could work behind the scenes, helping to make it happen, giving people of Thurrock the opportunity to express themselves creatively.

Sporting Achievement award

For an individual, community group or organisation that has helped to create a lasting sporting legacy in Thurrock by promoting or encouraging more participation in sport or by representing Thurrock in their sport. This awards also celebrates and thanks those who give their time to working behind the scenes at local sporting clubs and groups.

Environmental Champion award

For an individual, community group or organisation working to celebrate, improve or protect the environment in which we live. This award is for those who voluntarily strive to improve the outside surroundings and environment within their neighbourhood, community or the whole of Thurrock.

Young Achiever award

To celebrate an inspirational young person – 25 years-old or under – who has made an outstanding contribution by volunteering within the local community, demonstrating leadership, commitment and enthusiasm. This individual will be a role model in their community, making a real difference to another individual, their community or a cause.

Thurrock has many outstanding businesses that play a crucial role in the improvement of life in the borough through supporting the community, with a clear social corporate responsibility ethos. This award recognises the businesses that have invested in Thurrock's communities through sponsorship or other forms of support to make it a better place to live and work.

For an individual, community group or organisation that has improved the health and well-being of an individual, many people, their local community or the whole of Thurrock. This can relate to any aspect of health, including mental health, emotional, social and physical well-being.
