If you are registered as the main carer for someone at high risk from coronavirus, you are now eligible for a NHS coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination.
For advice on who is at 'high risk', go to NHS: Who is at high risk from coronavirus.
You will be contacted by the NHS automatically if you are either:
- receiving Carer's Allowance
- registered as a carer with your GP
- registered as a carer with our social services
- registered as a carer with Thurrock Carers Service – part of Thurrock and Brentwood Mind
You don't have to do anything if any of the above applies to you – the NHS will contact you.
If you're not registered as a carer
From April 2021, the government has suspended its separate booking service for carers who are not registered and don’t receive Carer’s Allowance.
If you wish to receive the vaccine because you are the main carer for someone at high risk from coronavirus, you should contact you GP to register yourself as a carer.
To check your entitlements as a carer, you can contact Thurrock Carers Service.
