In June 2016 we began a review of all empty homes within Thurrock.
By law, we must keep our keep council tax records up to date. This means we must check all properties we have recorded as empty, to find out whether they are now occupied or still empty.
We have asked a company called CapacityGrid to carry out this review on our behalf.
Taking part in the review
If you are the owner of a property that our records say is an empty property, you will be sent a letter by CapacityGrid. The letter gives you the chance to tell us if the property is now occupied or unoccupied.
You can respond either online, or by completing and returning the form enclosed with the letter.
We would like you to respond within 14 days – if we do not receive a response, we will carry out an inspection of your property.

Make sure you have your letter with you – you will need your:
