Sinatra and Me, with The Denmark Street Big Band
Starring Richard Shelton – this celebrated British performer, based in Los Angeles, has been described as "one of the world’s finest Sinatra interpreters". An award-winning actor and singer, he has received many prestigious critically-acclaimed international reviews for his 'performance as'. This show comes directly from London's West End and Los Angeles.
Shelton will be accompanied on stage with the fabulous Denmark Street (concert) Big Band, based in London's West End. This very exciting professional Big Band will provide the audience a wonderful musical experience. They have been the resident Big Band to The Royal Opera House for their special events since 2013.
This highly acclaimed International show is touring South Africa and New Zealand, and has also been performed on many famous stages in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and Australia to great acclaim, hitting all the high notes with Sinatra fans.
Shelton says: "The show focuses on the wonderful music of Sinatra's hits, including my time starring as Sinatra in London's West End and the synchronicity between our lives, including how his tuxedo literally walked into my life, a fact which was verified by Sir Roger Moore (James Bond) on live TV." Richard has met Frank Sinatra's entire family and was also one of the last people to be inside Sinatra's last home as it was being demolished. There is also original music in the show, including the title track scored for a big-band arrangement, 'Sinatra and Me', which was recorded in East West Studios, LA, where Sinatra recorded 'My Way' and 'A Very Good Year'.
Richard has performed for HRH Prince Charles at Windsor Castle, for Sir Elton John at his 'White Tie and Tiara Ball', with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London and on countless international TV and radio shows.
