Request:

I would be grateful if you could kindly confirm / provide the following information relating to your bus shelter and stop contracts:

1). Please confirm the contract start and end dates

2.) Please confirm the incumbent provider.

3). Please also provide approximate number of bus shelters and bus stops covered in this contract

Response:

1. We only have a Contract with Clear Channel for the provision of non-advertising passenger shelters. The contract lifespan is 06/2019–06/2024. The contract has options to extend twice up to a maximum of 15 years. For bus stop poles these are purchased from M Bissell display on an ad-hoc basis and installed by Thurrock Council procured Highways contractor. Our recent tender for advertising shelters has closed and is currently being discussed as to whom is the best provider for this contract.

2. Clear Channel provide passenger shelters, Henderson and Taylor install bus stop poles. The contract for Henderson and Taylor is a Term Maintenance Contract.

3. Clear channel contract covers 159 shelters. Henderson and Taylor install bus stop poles as and when as part of the wider Highways department contract. There are approximately 455 bus stop poles in Thurrock.
