Emergency Housing/Refuge

Publication date:
Wednesday 18 March 2020
Request:

Could you inform me approximately how many children have been taken into emergency housing/refuge accompanying an adult fleeing domestic abuse in the last 12 months in your area. This can help make sure we are providing enough bags to the refuges and not saturating them or falling short.

Response:

There have been 76 children accompanying adults fleeing domestic abuse into Thurrock Women’s Refuge over the last 12 months and 34 that have been placed in Temporary Accommodation as part of a household fleeing domestic abuse.
