Policies and Protocol

1. I would like to request a Word or PDF version (attached to your reply) of:

-The fair access protocol in your area, and/or;
-Any policies or protocols related to in-year admissions, for children and young people (CYP) who have been excluded from school, for CYP who have experienced a managed move or other type of negotiated transfer, for new arrivals to the area, and for any other category of in-year admission, and/or;
-Any policies or protocols covering processes, placements and/or educational provision of any kind, in any place, for children and young people excluded from school, CYP who have experienced a managed move or other type of negotiated transfer, CYP at risk of exclusion and new arrivals to the area.
If you have more than one policy or protocol covering any of these processes in your local area, please send copies of all of them and indicate which geographic areas they cover. If you share a policy or protocol with another local authority area, please indicate this to us.
If there is no policy or protocol in place in your area related to the issues outlined above, please reply to inform us of this; also, please let us know if a policy or protocol is currently being developed.
2. How many cases in each of the following categories came before the fair access panel in your area in 2018-19 or the last financial year for which data is available? Please indicate to us the financial year for which you are providing the data. Categories include:
-Official exclusions
-Managed moves, or another type of negotiated transfer scheme
-New arrivals to the area
-Parent- or carer-initiated school move
-Any other category of CYP who are placed through this panel

-Cases of Exclusion are not presented to the fair access panel.
-Managed Moves = Total 56 Re-integrations from alternative provisions following permanent exclusion = total 12
-Not all cases are presented to the inclusion panel.  Those that have been identified as meeting the hard to place criteria of the Fair Access protocol were: 55 new arrivals to the area, referred to the inclusion panel under Fair Access.
