Request: 

Would you be able to provide the following statistics from the dates of 1st June 2017 – 31st December 2018.

1. Number of Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) served for parking violations (ideally split out by not paying parking charges and parking in a disabled space without a badge)
a. Total amount (in pounds) received from PCNs
b. Number of PCNs appealed
c. Number of appeals upheld
d. Total amount (in pounds) refunded for upheld appeals
2. Number of Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) served for driving in bus lanes
a. Total amount (in pounds) received from PCNs
b. Number of PCNs appealed
c. Number of appeals upheld
d. Total amount (in pounds) refunded for upheld appeals

Response: 

Below are the answers for the dates 1st June 2017 – 31st December 2018:-

 

1. Number of Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) served for parking violations (ideally split out by not paying parking charges and parking in a disabled space without a badge) – 28,059

Total amount (in pounds) received from PCNs  - £ 928,520.87

a. Number of PCNs appealed  - 97

b. Number of appeals upheld - 26

c. Total amount (in pounds) refunded for upheld appeals - £ 0 – Appellants will normally not pay before the appeal – in each of the 26 cases that were upheld by the Traffic Penalty Tribunal (TPT) this was the case.
