Get involved in planning

Your place, your voice

Thurrock is set to change a lot in the next 20 to 30 years.

There's a need for:

  • new homes
  • the creation of new jobs
  • more investment in local industry
  • changes to the way people access services

This is your place, your voice, your opportunity to influence the future of your area.

From February to April 2018, we're running events across Thurrock to find out what you think of your area, and what matters most to you for the future.

With big changes ahead for Thurrock, your voice is more important than ever. By joining us at your local event, you can have a say on your area.

Get involved before you come along

Before coming to an event, you can:

Tell us your views

There will be a range of fun and interactive activities taking place at each drop-in session. Before the first session we will have delivered a copy of the 'Let's transform Thurrock together' brochure (below) to all households in Thurrock. By bringing your copy to a session, you can collect activity stamps and be in with a chance to win £200 Amazon vouchers – prize draw terms and conditions apply.

Examples of things we would like to hear include:

  • what your area used to be like, what it's like now
  • how you would like your area to be in 30 years' time
  • whether what residents said was important in the past is still as important today
  • which local buildings, features and open spaces need to be protected
  • which community projects in your area deserve more funding
  • where you would go for help and information
  • what changes to your area would help you be more physically active

Drop in and have your say

We’ve made sure that the activities at each event will be relevant to your local community. You know your local area best, and we look forward to hearing your views.
