Give a Gift 2020

Content

Christmas is a time of giving – the chance to share a special day with others.

For some children in Thurrock, however, Christmas can be an uncertain time. Their families may be unable to give them the magical Christmas we want for our own families.

This year more than ever, children need the sparkle of Christmas.

How you can help

Thurrock's award-winning 'Give a Gift' is back for a fifth year. It promises to give gifts to Thurrock children – known to our children's services teams – who may receive few, if any, presents.

We need to collect gifts for over 2,000 children for whom Christmas can be a difficult time.

Sadly, due to coronavirus restrictions, we can't set-up our special star-filled Christmas tree at intu Lakeside Shopping Centre this year.

For the safety of children, residents and staff, we can only accept individual gifts online.

It couldn't be easier to put a smile on a child's face this Christmas. You can donate a gift either by choosing and buying it yourself from our special list, or by donating money to Give a Gift.

You can buy gifts and donate money up to midnight on Sunday 13 December.

Buying from our Give a Give list

We've created a special Give a Gift 'Wish List' on the Amazon shopping website. Here you can choose from a list of pre-selected presents or gift cards for children.

When you order an item it's important you select our Give a Gift address for delivery:

#GiveAGift (Kelly Robinson)

Kelly is our Give a Gift elf who will make sure your gift gets wrapped for Christmas and will bring happiness to a Thurrock child.

Donate money to Give a Gift

You can also donate money to Give a Gift – all of which buy a present or gift card for a Thurrock child. You can donate money through our Give a Gift GoFundMe web page.

How your donation helps

All the gifts and money you donate will go to Thurrock children and young people in need. No gifts or money will be used for anything else.

Our volunteers follow government health guidance to make sure all gifts are wrapped and delivered safely in time for Christmas morning.

A special Thank You

You can download a special Give a Gift 'Thank You' star and hang it on your Christmas tree. There are 2 types – one you can print in colour, and one that your children can colour in at home.
