Training for people who work with vulnerable adults
We run regular half-day training basic awareness courses for safeguarding adults.
Safeguarding adults – basic awareness
These courses are free for anyone who, as part of their employment, helps vulnerable people with their health, housing or social care needs – including all new starters to Thurrock Council.
No previous experience is needed. If you have received this training before, you should attend again every 3 years.
The course will help you to understand:
- what is abuse and what is a vulnerable adult
- the types of abuse and their potential signs and indicators
- the facts around abuse
- your local responsibilities
