Libraries have re-opened for pre-booked computer sessions, returning borrowed items and collecting new requested items, but not browsing shelves. Items borrowed after 15 October have had loan dates extended to 1 May. Go to coronavirus (COVID-19) safety.
Learning at your library
We're changing our system for ordering and renewing library items. While we make the change, you won't be able to access our library catalogue online or in any library from Tuesday 6 April to Wednesday 21 April. For more details, go to new library catalogue system.
Our free Wiser4IT sessions are ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to use a computer.
This 5-week course is ideal for the over 50s but anyone can apply to take part.
The 5 sessions cover:
- using a mouse and getting started on a computer
- exploring the internet
- sending and replying to emails
- typing simple documents and word processing
- adding pictures and clip art to documents
The sessions last 2 hours with a break for refreshments. They are very informal and people learn at their own pace.
There is a waiting list to join these sessions.
