Education Awards winners announced

The winners of the annual Thurrock Education Awards were announced at a special ceremony on Friday 29 November.
Taking place at the Civic Hall, Grays, the ceremony brought together finalists from across 11 award categories to announce the winners and celebrate the amazing talents of colleagues across schools, early year settings and colleges in Thurrock.
More than 350 guests attended the black-tie event which is fully sponsored by local businesses across the borough, DP World London Gateway and Greenergy being the 2 main event sponsors this year.

The finalists shortlisted for this year's Thurrock Education Awards have been announced following an array of nominations from young people, parents and colleagues across the borough.
The Thurrock Education Awards recognise the fantastic work that takes place in our early years settings, schools, academies and colleges. In total, 44 individuals and teams have been shortlisted across 11 award categories.

Nominations extended for Thurrock Education Awards

Nominations for this year's Thurrock Education Awards will now be accepted until midnight on Sunday 13 October.
Extending the nomination period by a week gives parents, colleagues and young people an extra 7 days to submit their entries across our 11 award categories.
Cllr James Halden, Cabinet member for education and health, said: "We have received a fantastic response to this year's Thurrock Education Awards so far, with some of our most hardworking colleagues and teams being recognised for their passion, commitment and dedication.

Thurrock celebrates best ever KS2 results

12 July 2019
Primary schools in Thurrock are celebrating after initial Key Stage 2 results revealed the percentage of 11 year-olds achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and maths is higher than ever before.
The number of pupils achieving this expected standard across all 3 subjects combined has risen from 66% in 2018 to 70% in 2019. This year's result is also higher than the national figure of 65% for these subjects combined, as reported by the Department for Education.
