Once again Thurrock Council will be celebrating International Women's Day with a series of events on Friday 8 March.
The theme of this year's events is #BalanceForBetter which incorporates a call to action for creating a more gender balanced world and the empowerment of all women and girls, whether this is in the workplace, the home or any other sphere.
A series of local providers and services will come together at the Civic Offices in New Road, Grays on the day showing how they are helping women to take positive action for change in Thurrock. Also in attendance will be the Thurrock Museums Collection on Tour, where you can vote for your favourite artefact from Thurrock's rich heritage. This event will take place from 11am to 2pm in Committee Rooms 2 and 3 at the Civic Offices and residents are invited to attend and speak with representatives of local services.
At the Old Courthouse in Grays, a seminar aims to empower business owners with the knowledge and understanding of how to promote activity and exercise in business and the workplace. This free session is open to all local business owners and runs from 10am to midday. Tickets can be booked in advance at Eventbrite: active women in the workplace.
