As a Thurrock Foster Carer you will receive financial support, incentives and will be guided throughout your fostering journey by a committed team of professionals.
Cllr Barry Johnson, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, said: "Our fostering rates are very competitive and include council tax exemption for carers who live in Thurrock.
"Placing our children with our own carers means that we are able to provide a wraparound service whilst focusing our resources on our dedicated service. This option provides a much more successful outcome for children when compared to residential or high cost placements, that can cost in excess of £20,000 a week.
"We will always try to place children with carers within Thurrock but you do not need to live in the borough to become a Foster Carer with us, we welcome applications from surrounding areas."
Thurrock Fostering has an inclusive approach and welcomes applications from all backgrounds. If you have any questions or would like to know how you can start your fostering journey, please contact the team for more information.
An in-person information even is taking place on Monday 28 February, 6pm to 8pm at The Orsett Hall Hotel. To register your interest or to make an enquiry and find out more about becoming a foster carer, go to thurrock.gov.uk/fostering or call the team on 0800 652 1256.
