More than 88% of pupils who are expected to begin secondary school in Thurrock this September have been offered one of their 3 top school preferences.
Results announced today (Monday 2 March) have revealed that 88.4% of students will be able to attend one of their top choices, an increase from 87.9% in 2019.
Nearly three quarters of pupils (72.1%) will be able to attend their first choice of school – up from 71.2% in 2019.
Cllr Andrew Jefferies, Cabinet member for education, said: "Thanks to our continued investment in school places across the borough we can ensure that as many children as possible are able to attend one of their preferred secondary school choices.
"I wish all our young people the best of luck as they make their transition from primary to secondary school and continue to learn, develop and achieve in Thurrock."
