Have your say on Lower Thames Crossing proposals

7 September 2021

Thurrock Council is urging residents not to miss out on the opportunity to have their say on the latest Highways England's Lower Thames Crossing consultation which comes to a close at midnight on Wednesday 8 September.

The Community Impacts Consultation details the latest Highways England plans for the Lower Thames Crossing, including how they propose to reduce impacts on the borough's residents and the environment, along with information on the legacy benefits they plan to create.

Leader of Thurrock Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill, said: "There is still an opportunity for residents to have their say on these proposals. Previous rounds of consultation have led to Highways England withdrawing and altering their plans.

"It is vital that residents make their voices heard while they have an opportunity to do so."

Cllr Mark Coxshall, Cabinet member for regeneration, strategic planning and external relationships, said: "We want to make sure that we get the significant mitigation required to protect Thurrock's residents and environment, support local businesses, and unlock the regeneration potential of Thurrock and its Freeport."

The consultation is available on Highways England's website at ltcconsultation.highwaysengland.co.uk it closes at 11.59pm on Wednesday 8 September.
