Thurrock Council Leader's statement: Belmont Road development

Cllr Rob Gledhill, Leader of Thurrock Council, speaking about the Belmont Road development, said: "I am aware that residents have expressed concerns about access issues to the Thurrock Regeneration Ltd (TRL) Belmont Road housing development site, through Parker Road, as well as to the temporary loss of open space on Parker Road Park whilst the site is developed.

Housing performance report presented to full Council

A report presented to Wednesday's meeting of full Council (31 October) examined the Housing service's performance and key achievements over the past year and looked forward to building work starting on dozens of new council homes in the borough.
It also highlighted ambitious regeneration plans to create over 1,000 new homes over the next 5 years.
The council’s new build programme is set to create 117 new council homes. There will be:

New council homes as Belmont Road development gets the go ahead

Councillors agreed unanimously at Full Council last week (Wednesday 31 January) to fund Thurrock Regeneration Limited (TRL) to deliver 80 new homes and bungalows at Belmont Road, Grays – a scheme that will include 28 new council houses.
The new approach to funding new council homes is both innovative and ground breaking, reinvesting right-to-buy receipts along with other capital receipts to acquire 28 much needed new council homes for Thurrock residents on the housing register.
