Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)

Temporary prohibition or restriction on roads
Order number: 21, 2018

A13 and Orsett Cock Slip Roads

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has madeĀ  an Order the effect of which is to:

a. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along A13 Orsett Cock eastbound off slip road
b. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along A13 eastbound between Orsett Cock on and off slip road
c. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along A13 Orsett Cock westbound on slip road
d. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along A13 westbound between Orsett Cock on and off slip road

2) The purpose of the Order is for the inspection of Rectory Road Bridge. All 4 prohibitions above will apply in stages during the inspections and will be signed accordingly.

3) The alternative routes:

a. eastbound traffic to Stanford Interchange and westbound to Orsett Cock roundabout
b. eastbound traffic diverted onto off slip onto the Orsett Cock roundabout and diverted back onto the A13
c. traffic wanting to travel westbound diverted back to Stanford Interchange and diverted back westbound down the A13
d. westbound traffic diverted onto off slip onto Orsett Cock roundabout and diverted back onto A13

4) The Order will come into force overnight between 21:00hrs and 05.30hrs on Tuesday 20 February 2018 until Thursday 22 February 2018. It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
