1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:

i) prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Chadwell Road between its junctions with River View Roundabout and Wood View northbound junction
ii) prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Wood View from its junction with Culverin Avenue to Chadwell Road
iii) prohibit any vehicle from turning left onto Wood View from Culverin Avenue

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing.

3) The alternative routes are as follows:

i) for vehicles travelling eastbound the diversion is Link Road Chadwell Road to Wood View northbound, Wood View westbound, Daneholes Roundabout, Wood View eastbound, Old Dock Approach Road, Marshfoot Roundabout, Marshfoot Road eastbound, and Chadwell Bypass northbound and vice versa for westbound vehicles
ii) for vehicles wishing to travel eastbound the diversion will be Old Dock Approach Road, Marshfoot Roundabout, Marshfoot Road eastbound, and Chadwell Bypass northbound. For those wishing to travel northwest on Wood View the diversion is Chadwell Bypass, Marshfoot Road westbound, Marshfoot roundabout, Dock Road and Old Dock Approach Road
iii) eastbound diversion will be Wood View westbound, King Edward Drive, Stanford Road southwest bound, and Daneholes roundabout

4) The Order will come into force on Thursday 1 February 2024 at 7pm. Works are currently scheduled to take place on Thursday 1 February 2024 and take place nightly between the hours of 7pm and 5am until Saturday 3 February 2024 at 5am. Exact dates will be specified on https://one.network/

It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
