Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)

Waiting Restrictions

Orsett and Grays

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, intends to make the above named Order ("the Proposed Order").

2) The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a new waiting restriction "No Waiting At Any Time" at the following locations:

a) on the east side of Pound Lane from the junction with High Road northwards for 10m
b) on the north side of High Road from Pound Lane eastwards for 80m to the junction with St Giles Close
c) on both sides of St Giles Close from the northern kerb line with High Road, Orsett in a northerly direction for 10m on each side
d) at the junction of High Road and St Giles Close, Orsett south easterly for 10m
e) on the western side of Rectory Road from a point 12m north of the northern kerb line of School Lane northwards for a distance of 30m
f) Hillcrest Road junction with High Road, Horndon from a point 7m south of the southern kerb line of High Road southwards for a distance of 6m
g) on the south side of Welling Road opposite junction with Hemley Road for a distance of 16m between numbers 44 to 46 Welling Road, Orsett
h) on the south side of Welling Road opposite junction with Hemley Road for a distance of 13m between numbers 60 to 64 Welling Road, Orsett
i) Welling Road Roundabout junction with Borley Court; Bristowe Drive; Welling Road East and Welling Road, West for a distance of 30m in each direction
j) at the junction of Chestnut Avenue with Long Lane for a distance of 10m
k) at the junction of Connaught Avenue with Long Lane for a distance of 10m
l) at the junction of Nutberry Avenue with Long Lane for a distance of 10m
m) at the junction of Woodcutters Avenue and Mayfields for a distance of 10m

To reduce the "no waiting at any time" restrictions at the following locations:

n) on the western side of Windsor Avenue from a point 5m north of the northern kerb line of Cobham, northwards for a distance of 4m
o) on the western side of number 1 Whitmore Avenue from a point 7m north of the northern kerb line of the access to Wennington Court northwards for a distance of 3m

3) A copy of the Proposed Order together with the plans will be available for inspection at the Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL during normal office hours and also on Thurrock Council's website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices

4) Any objection to the proposed Order must be made in writing, giving the grounds on which it is made, and sent to the address in paragraph (3) or sent via email to transportdevelopment@thurrock.gov.uk to arrive on or before 7 February 2020. Any objection may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
