Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)

40 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit

Stanford Road Speed Reduction

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above Order on 29 September 2022, the Order will come into force on 28 October 2022.

2) The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a 40mph Speed Limit restriction (reducing from current 50mph speed limit) at the location specified below:

(a)    A1013 Stanford Road, from a point 136m east of the eastern kerbline of Grosvenor Road (Eastern Arm) to a point 86m west of the western kerbline of Buckingham Hill Road
(b)    A1013 Stanford Road, from a point 225m east of the eastern kerbline of London Road, Stanford-le-Hope to its junction with the Stanford Interchange

Revoke existing 50mph speed limit restriction at the location(s) specified below:

(a)    A1013 Stanford Road, from a point 136m east of the eastern kerbline of Grosvenor Road (eastern arm) to a point 86m west of the western kerbline of Buckingham Hill Road
(b)    A1013 Stanford Road, from a point 225m east of the eastern kerbline of London Road, Stanford-le-Hope to its junction with the Stanford Interchange

3) A copy of the Made Order together with the plans can be obtained from the Transport Development Team by contacting us on 01375 652652 during normal office hours or alternatively via Thurrock Council's website at www.thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices

4) Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers to conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
