Public notice

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made an Order the effect of which is to:

• prohibit any vehicle travelling along Stanley Road between its junctions with Orsett Road and Bluebell Court in accordance with Schedule One to the Order
• temporarily suspend the loading bay on Cromwell Road outside numbers 6 to 12 in accordance with Schedule One to the Order
• prohibit any vehicle from parking at any time on the east kerb line of Cromwell Road from a point approximately 49m north of its junction with Orsett Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north direction in accordance with Schedule One to the Order

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Cadent Gas to carry out pre enabling works and new low pressure gas supply to the Library and Theatre.

3) The alternative route for southbound vehicles is Orsett Road, London Road, Hogg Lane, Eastern Way, Maidstone Road, Crown Road, Stanley Road, and for northbound vehicles will be Clarence Road, Derby Road and Orsett Road. Access will be maintained for residents.

4) The Order will come into force and be in force as per Schedule One to this Order. It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.

• Stanley Road – Monday 9 October 2023 at 8am until Monday 16 October 2023 at 5pm
• Cromwell Road – Monday 30 October 2023 at 8am until Friday 10 November 2023 at 5pm
