A1090 Purfleet Bypass lane closures

One or both lanes of the A1090 Purfleet Bypass will be closed between Meads Roundabout and North Road, from 9pm to 5am, for 6 weeks starting from 3 September 2018. This is to allow the installation of pedestrian and cyclist crossing signals. For most of this time only one lane will be closed, but sometimes both lanes will be closed and detour signs provided – we apologise for any inconvenience.

Private streets

We are not responsible for private roads. The owners - usually the people who live on the street - are responsible for maintaining their private street.

Private street are usually unmade and don't have a bitumen or concrete surface.

Reporting an unsafe private street

The owners are usually responsible for the safety of their private street. If you think a problem is a danger to the public - like a deep hole in the middle of the road - we can arrange to make it safe by placing barriers or road closures around the hazard. Permanent repairs are the responsibility of the owners.

Contact us to report a problem with a private street.
