Sports and leisure

The role of the sports council is to support and encourage the work already being done by us and sports clubs to develop sport in Thurrock.

Any sports club in Thurrock can register. Registration is free and it allows clubs to apply for grants and support.

Grants can also be awarded to individuals, who would normally belong to a registered club, and there may be assistance for Thurrock residents having to train out of borough for a specific reason. The sports council helps fund coaching awards and may give financial assistance for equipment and competition.

Become a member or apply for funding

You can apply to become a member of the sports council. If you are already a member, you can apply to the sports council for funding.
